Rapid Weight Loss Tips, Techniques and Strategies

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

It seems everyone is looking for that magic bullet – rapid weight loss secret that will instantly shed excess weight and turn you into a supermodel.

The fact is, there are healthy, effective and simple techniques you can use to achieve weight loss – and keep it off over the long term.

Tip 1: Rapid weight loss requires a multi-faceted approach that combines diet, excercise, emotional support and in some cases, diet supplements.

Start by learning about and mapping out a low-carb diet you can live with. You can use the resources below to get more information on finding a low-carb diet you can live with. Develop an exercise program that results in at least 15 minutes of activity each day – walking, running, swimming are all good.

Tip 2: Set realistic goals. Rapid weight loss depends on your ability to focus on a disciplined mix of diet and exercise. By setting realistic goals, you will not become discouraged and lose your focus.

Tip 3: Listen to your body. Though there are many rapid weight loss plans out there, everyone’s body and metabolism reacts differently to these programs. Some people can’t progress on the diet as fast as others. So, substitute a more rigorous exercise program to compensate. Others are not able to exercise as rigorously – learn to listen to your body and adjust your diet plan accordingly.

Tip 4: Drink lots of water. Drink at least 6 – 8oz glasses of water each day. Weight loss depends on flusing your system out, and you must stay hydrated during that process.

Above all else, be consistent. Moderate dieting, exercise and supplementation applied in a consistent way, day after day will result in better weight loss than massive action followed by a return to old habits.

As you can see, a moderate diet plan and moderate exercise program combined with solid emotional support is the key to succeeding with rapid weight loss.

Weight Loss Tips, Tricks, and Tactics – Part 1

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

I personal lost 60 pounds in 2003. Here are some tactics I used to lose the weight.

Eat every three hours. This will keep your blood sugar stable. Try to eat real food at least three times a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. In between your food meals take a good meal replacement shake or bar.

Never eat a carbohydrate by itself. This is basically all sugar. When you eat a carbohydrate by itself there is a sudden increase in sugar in the body. This causes the body to release insulin. However, the body releases too much insulin because it thinks more sugar is coming. The insulin basically grabs the sugar/carbohydrate and stores it to fat for use at some other time. Since your body released too much insulin there is not enough sugar to support the brain function. That is why you feel tired or sluggish. So you’re fatter and dumber.

Watch the gums and mints. Many of these little gums and mints contain calories, sugars, and everything else that is not good for you. Read the labels, if it has sugar in it do not eat it.

Eat foods that have 30% or less, calories from fat. Everyone is on this big no carbohydrate craze. However, did you know that 1 gram of carbohydrate contains 4 calories, 1 gram of protein contains 4 calories, and 1 gram of fat contains 9 calories? There are over twice as many calories in a single gram of fat, than in a protein or carbohydrate.

To find out how many calories are from fat check the label. The label will list the total calories and then list how many calories are from fat. If there are 100 total calories, and there are 70 calories from fat, that’s 70%, too high.

Give yourself one reward day to eat and drink whatever you want. You worked hard all week, reward yourself.

Alcohol is a converted to a sugar. Save it for your free day. If you do drink, it might also be helpful to take hydroxycitric acid capsules about 30 minutes before drinking. Hydroycitric acid is from the herb Garcinia Cambogia. This interferes with the enzyme that converts excess sugars into triglycerides, lessening the likelihood the alcohol will be stored as fat.

Lose Weight – Diet Tips For Fast Weight Loss

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Looking to lose weight quickly? The good news is that it’s possible. The bad news is that fad diets and quick fixes have a tendency to not last. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to make a life-long change in the way you eat, the way you exercise, and the way you approach your relationship with food. Supplements and weight loss products get a bad rap, but they’re not all bad. Taking a daily supplement like a complex B-vitamin or a one-a-day weight management can definitely help maintain a productive metabolism, and as long as you stay away from things with ephedra, diet aids can be a good tool for maintaining a healthy weight management program.

If you’re problem is obesity, it might be hard to focus on a long term goal without seeing some results, and fast. It’s always encouraging to see the first ten pounds melt off like chocolate in your pocket on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, for that rate to continue past the first two weeks is not just unhealthy, it’s dangerous. Don’t be discouraged if your weight loss slows to about two pounds a week. This rate is actually ideal, for it not only will fulfill your long term weight loss goals, but it is healthy and easily sustainable. To get that jump start try something like the South Beach diet, which will kick start your weight loss before transitioning you into a healthier lifestyle that will keep you losing weight and from putting back on what you’ve already lost.

Here are some other tips to keep in mind. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Diet supplements or pills are never a replacement for a healthy diet and moderate exercise. Remember, even a walk after dinner will help the upkeep of a healthy metabolism. If you want to lose weight, especially if it’s a lot of weight, taking it slow and steady really is the best way to go. There are a lot of how to plans and free diet plans online to keep you focused on your diet goals. Losing a few pounds quickly is okay, in fact it’s a great way to kick start your transition into a healthy long term diet program. However, to keep up that rate is dangerous to your health and is a quick and easy way to develop an eating disorder. A low fat diet and moderate exercise combined with a support system and even some supplements is a great way to lose the weight and keep it off for good.

There are many products available to help you lose weight. There are
supplements, diet plans, programs and online support systems to
help you manage your eating habits and measure your weight loss progress. Some
of these companies provide support and help with your dieting program. We can

Lose Fat by Choosing The Best Weight Loss Plan For You

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Are you sick of the hype? Wondering what diet products really work? The fact is, most of them do. It’s simply a matter of finding what works for you. In general, the best diet plan is a healthy balance of low fat and high protein foods, plenty of fruits and veggies, and a little bit of sweets and fats. You can also never underestimate the importance of those eight glasses of water a day. If you have trouble getting in the recommended amount of water, try having water instead of a soft drink at lunch, or keep a Nalgene bottle with you throughout the day. Combine all of this with some moderate exercise, and you’ll be good to go! The fact is, that fundamentally the only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you consume.

So, what is the point of all of those products and how to plans, if all you really have to do is exercise off more than you eat? Those plans and products are designed by experts to optimize your calorie burning capability and help you lose weight. A program like the South Beach diet is ideal for converting yourself into lifelong sustainable eating habits. Meanwhile, other free diet plans online like the cabbage soup diet are a great way to lose a few pounds quickly for short term diet goals. These diets work for very different people who have very different goals. It depends on how fast you want to lose how much weight. There are websites chock full of recipes, tips, advice on products and weight loss supplements, all at your fingertips.

How do you know if a low carb diet is right for you? Will the cabbage soup diet give you the long term results you’re looking for? Is the South Beach diet a good way to combat obesity? These are questions you may be asking yourself, or the websites and free diet plans that you are consulting. There are so many diets out there that it’s difficult to determine which will work best for you. It is very easy to listen to what worked for a friend or co-worker and expect the same results. Unfortunately, those are unrealistic expectations.

The best way to approach a new diet or decide what program is best for you, is to take some very basic things into consideration. For example, it’s important to ask yourself what you want to accomplish with the diet? Consider whether or not the diet you are looking for is for short term or long term goals. If you just want to fit into an old pair of jeans, something that quickly sheds seven to ten pounds might be what you’re looking for.

In addition, you should never commit to something that is going to make you miserable. If you hate tuna fish, eating nothing but dry tuna for two weeks is not going to be something you can stick to! Be realistic about what you are willing to take on, and what you can sustain. Remember, the best diet program for you will not seem like a sacrifice, but instead, merely a change of pace.

There are many products available to help you lose weight. There are

Fast Weight Loss – Is It Possible

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Is fast weight loss possible? Probably not at the rate that everyone would wish. Fast weight loss means losing at most 1-2 pounds a week and maybe 3 pounds if morbidly obese. Note that I said, at most. Any program that promotes losing 10 pounds in 10 days is simply impossible to do in a healthful manner. Often times, these quick-fix plans rely on lost water weight which will be regained immediately once one’s normal diet resumes. Next time you watch a commercial for pills like Hydroxycut or TrimSpa, keep your eyes open for the fine print that reads something like, “Results not typical.” These companies use various ploys to trick the public into believing that the testimonials are the genuine words of actual customers and the before and after photos as being honest documentation of their transformations. Be smart and don’t fall victim to this pseudo-fitness garbage being advertised, it’s truly detrimental.

Myth: Targeting Fat Loss Using Exercises And Products

Another common tactic that those on the phonier side of the fitness industry also like to utilize is the perpetual flow of home fitness gadgets that with three easy payments will buy you a flatter stomach or whatnot. Since both men and women are insecure about their stomachs, those in this industry target them with various sit-up and crunch contraptions that advocate only minutes of exercise. One in particular promotes only 12 repetitions on one side and 12 more on the other to give the owner a nicely sculpted set of abs, all within 90 seconds. Impossible. You cannot work out in only 90 seconds and expect to achieve any noticeable results, especially when you are trying to isolate a single muscle group for the sake of fat loss. Furthermore, many fail to understand that ab work only leads to stronger abs, not subcutaneous fat loss, which is usually the goal of the buyer. So, don’t waste your money on a product that won’t give you the results it boasts to give you.

How To Lose Weight The Right Way:

The ideal path for weightloss includes a diet where your are reducing your usual daily caloric intake by 500 calories. With diet alone, one could lose a pound of fat a week just by removing a mere 500 excess calories. So instead of drinking 2 soft drinks a day and a cookie after lunch, have water instead and skip dessert. Now, couple this idea with smaller portions of lean protein and complex carbohydrates and more frequent meals so as to prevent hunger pangs. This will keep the metabolism high in order to maximize the body’s calorie burning potential. As for exercise, work out three times a week and keep workouts to every other day. Also, make sure you blend the right amount of aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. Eat 5 meals a day, full of colorful fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, seeds, and nuts and exercise 3 times a week and you’ll be guaranteed to lose weight as fast as the body possibly can, the right way!

Simple Tips for Easy Weight Loss, Part II

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

In part two of this article series, additional tips for easy weight loss will be addressed. These steps highlight information from Kevin Trudeau’s “How to Lose 30 Pounds in 30 Days: The Weight Loss Secret They Don?t Want You to Know About”.

In part one, it was discussed that more and more Americans are becoming overweight. Many people have a difficult time losing weight and finding a diet that works for them. In addition, even after sorting through all kinds of information and opinions about what works and what doesn’t and trying various diets, some people still are unable to lose those stubborn pounds.

Also addressed was how genetics do not determine whether or not a person will be fat, but do determine one’s body shape. The fact is there are specific reasons people are overweight. These include the following:

1. Slow metabolism: People who are overweight have a hard time burning off food. As a result, the fat is stored.

2. Emotional Eating: Those who struggle with weight many times eat when they are very stressed or when other emotional upheavals are happening in their lives.

3. Hormonal Imbalances

4. Eating Too Large of Portions

5. Eating lots of Diet Food (e.g. low fat, low carb foods): Kevin explains in the book why this is a problem.

6. Body Toxicity

7. Eating Late: Late night eating can cause food to convert to fat more easily.

8. High Susceptibility to Growth Hormones: This is what is put in many meat and dairy products to help the animals grow faster and larger. In humans, this can result in increased fat storage.

9 Not Eating Breakfast

10. Numerous Diets: This has a negative impact on the metabolism and causes losing weight to be much more difficult.

11. Ingredients in Foods: The ingredients that are in foods cause people to be overweight. This really is the number one reason people have weight loss problems.

The good news is that everyone can lose weight. The first 7 tips for easy weight loss are:

Tip #1: Drink Water upon Arising: The first thing in the morning, drink 8 ounces of distilled water, bottled water, or filtered water. It can’t be tap water.

Tip #2: Eat a Big Breakfast: This should be done 45 minutes after getting up in the morning. Suggested organic foods to choose from (it must be organic) are apples, bananas, rye bread with no sugar, plain yogurt, tuna, lamb, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, raw honey, wild smoked salmon, etc. Kevin’s book covers more.

Tip #3: Drink Distilled Water Throughout the Day: Eight glasses is recommended.

Tip #4: Walk Non-Stop One Hour Each Day: This doesn’t have to be power walking or anything like that. Just walk at your own pace with outside being the best place.

Tip #5: Stop Eating after 6:00 PM: This is hard for some people, but do the best you can.

Tip #6: Do a Candida Cleanse: Candida is yeast overgrowth in the colon that can cause all kinds of health problems. Check online for “Candida Cleanse” or go to your local health food store.

Tip #7: Do a Colon Cleanse: This cleanse cleans out the digestive system, which is clogged and sluggish in many overweight people. Once more, check online or go to your local health food store.

Here are the final ones:

Tip #8: Eat Organic Grapefruit: Eat as much as you want everyday. They appear to have enzymes that help burn fat. Don?t drink the juice, but eat the fresh fruit.

Tip #9: No Aspartame, Nutra Sweet, Sucralose, or Splenda: In other words, no artificial sweeteners. They are toxic to your body.

Tip #10: No Monosodiumglutamates (MSG): This is toxic to your body.

Tip #11: Take Digestive Enzymes: These should be taken with each meal. This also is important since many people?s bodies do not produce enough of them. The result is that food is not digested properly, which can wreak havoc on one?s system. Digestive enzymes can be found at your local health food store or online.

Tip #12: No Fast Foods

Tip #13: No High Fructose Corn Syrup or White Flour: Instead use Stevia, raw organic cane sugar, or raw organic honey. All of these products can be found at your local health food store.

Tip #14: Eat Organic Apples, Organic Meats, Organic Fish, and Organic Poultry

Tip #15: Do a Liver/Gallbladder Cleanse: A clean liver will help your body digest food much more efficiently.

Tip #16: Eat A Big Salad with Lunch and Dinner: For the dressing, use organic olive oil, organic lemon, and apple cider vinegar.

Tip #17: Rebound Every Day: Rebounding is jumping on a mini-trampoline. This will help relieve your body of toxins, clean out the lymphatic system, plus tone you up.

Tip #18: Add Organic Hot Peppers: Use these for every meal since they help speed up the fat burning process.

Tip #19: Use One Teaspoon of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar: This should be done before each meal since it helps to pull fat from the body?s cells.

Tip #20: Breathe: Throughout the day, practice deep breathing. Increased oxygen helps the body burn fat.

Tip #21: Do 15 Colonics in 30 Days: A colonic is a painless process in which water is pumped in and out of the colon. What this does is loosen old fecal manner that has been in the colon for years and pulls it right on out. Check online or the yellow pages to find a health care professional who is trained in this.

Tip #22: Add Muscle: This does not mean you have to hit the gym and lift like crazy. You can choose to do Pilates, Yoga, Kung Fu, etc. The key is to build muscle since the more muscle you have, the more your body will burn fat.

Tip #23: Do a Juice Fast: Now, this is very hard for many people to do. Even a few days would be beneficial. A fast helps to detox one?s body and resets the metabolism. Always consult a doctor before something like this as well. Go to Naturalcures.com, check out your local bookstore to find books on fasting, or even visit your local health food store to obtain information.

Tip #24: Cheat Whenever You Want!: Of course, don’t keep cheating! Cheat for a meal, and then start eating right again.

Though more and more Americans are becoming overweight, you don’t have to be part of the statistics. Weight loss does not have to be grueling, and nor does it have to involve no carbs, calorie counting, no fat and the like. In fact, it can be fast, easy, and optimal health can be obtained. You are now on your way to obtaining that figure you have been dreaming of.

Ephedra – Is It A Safe Weight Loss Product

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Ephedra, the most effective weight loss product prior to the FDA’s short-lived ban on on it. Some ephedra formulas contain as much as 25 mg’s of ephedrine alkaloids.

Up until the short-lived ephedra ban, the industry estimated that 12 million to 17 million Americans were taking around 3 billion doses a year. Why? Because, ephedra, when taken as directed works!

In addition to ephedra’s weight-loss benefits, many bodybuilders, athletes and others use this product for its energy properties.

Ephedra also has a diuretic effect and it alters neurotransmission to minimize appetite. The end result is less appetite and a faster metabolism. Some also report that ephedra suppresses appetite.

Recent studies with both humans and laboratory animals have shown ephedrine, the pharmaceutical derivative of ephedra, to be beneficial in promoting weight loss. The main mechanism at work is its thermogenic ability to increase the metabolic rate of adipose tissue thereby enhancing the body’s ability to burn fat. Its weight reducing effects are greatest in those who have a low basal metabolic rate. [Tenney, Louise. Today's Herbal Health, 5th edition]

Ma Huang, a variety of ephedra has been used for thousands of years in the Far East in the treatment of colds. Some have used it for sinus problems.

Ephedra also contains fair amounts of such important minerals as zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium, iron and potassium as well as the vitamins thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), vitamins A and C. According to Dr. John R. Christopher, the minerals absorbed by ephedra (as well as other plants) are “live, highly vibrating minerals that can be assimilated into the body and used without side effects.”

Ephedra is also a blood purifier, it is a popular folk remedy for such conditions as arthritis, rheumatism, bursitis and other painful muscle and joint problems.

Taken as directed, ephedra is a safe, effective and healthy addition to your weight-loss program.

Are Weight Loss Supplements Right For You

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

The debate about whether supplements for weight loss are healthy or not will go on and on for years to come. There are good and bad points to using weight loss supplements. One of the bad points is that once you stop taking them you gain everything back that you lost to begin with.

Most doctors will tell you that weight loss supplements are not necessary and that only a good controlled diet along with daily exercise is the only thing one needs to lose weight. This is true. however with today’s working society with 2 parents working and trying to raise children at the same time who has time for exercise? Who has time to plan good nutritional meals?

I know first hand what this is all about. My wife is probably around 60 pounds over weight. Now before we go any further I would just like to say that I love her just as much now as I did when we first met. Her weight does not bother me. She is a beautiful person both inside and out. But I know inside she is hurting. And for the last several years she has struggled with her weight almost daily. And the biggest problem as I mentioned above is time. Time to prepare good quality nutritious meals both for her self and the children. Time to do sufficient exercise in order to burn off calories. Our schedule is chaotic to say the least. She works from 9:00 AM till 5:00 PM. I work from 3:30 PM till 12:00 AM . When I’m not with the kids she is with the kids. Only on weekends do the kids have both parents home at the same time.

Back to supplements.

First they will not work if you do not get the proper diet and at least exercise once per week. My wife has tried supplements and they did work for her. What supplements do is to help speed up your metabolism rate decreasing the need for daily exercise. They also supplement the nutrition needed that you may not be getting from your diet for proper weight loss. Weight loss supplements actually regulate your blood sugar level, this helps you overcome severe sugar and carbohydrate cravings that sabotage even the most strong-willed weight loss efforts.

So are weight loss nutrition supplements right for you? When my wife lost 40 pounds using supplements she felt great. She was happy and gained allot of self esteem back. Not to mention that she had allot more energy. If you have a hectic schedule and cannot find enough time in the day to prepare proper nutritional meals and get regular daily exercise then I suggest you give supplements a try.

My opinion is that if they help you to lose weight and make you feel good about yourself again then go for it. What do you have to lose except a few pounds. There are hundreds of products on the internet you can try. A couple of my wife’s favorites can be found at the following web page. http://weight-loss-nutrition-supplements.com

You can also get good information on dieting and weight loss at this site along with a very handy calorie calculator.

Take The “Die” out Of Dieting – Tips For Stress Free Weight Loss

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Not so resolved on that “New Year’s Resolution” to be in shape this year? Not quite in the body that you wanted to spend this summer in? Are you sick of counting carb grams and worrying about all of the foods that you “can’t eat” ? If You are tired of losing the same weight over and over, and feeling like a failure because your last “diet” didn’t work, try these tips to not only lose weight, but lose it for good. I have watched hundreds of clients over the years and almost without exception, those that lose their weight once and for all have mastered these tips and made their weight loss Stress Free

Be Responsible for What You Eat -Studies show that people who are 20 or more pounds overweight underestimate their caloric intake by up to 1000 calories per day, while people of a normal weight under estimate by only several hundred, There are 2 main culprits for this. First, many people are unaccustomed to “true” serving sized of most foods. For a start, begin paying attention to the Serving size information on the foods that you eat. Also, it helps to use a measuring cup and food scale to acclimate yourself to what 1/2 c or 1 tbs. of something actually looks like. Second – Start paying attention to your unconscious eating habits — at the television or the computer, in the car, while you’re cooking or cleaning up — and focus on consciously enjoying the foods you eat, while being aware of the calories you consume.
Copyright © Custom Bodies, Inc. 2005

Don’t Try To Change everything at once – Focus on making small. moderate changes in your lifestyle each week. Click here to learn more about lifestyle coaching & weight management programs. Each time you make a positive choice it will add up and bring you closer to your goals. If you eat just 100 less calories per day you can lose 10 pounds in a year!! 100 calories is equal to 1/2 cup less of pasta, 1 less tablespoon of butter, or 1/2 cup less of ice cream.

Just say “NO” to excuses – The difference between fit and unfit people is their habits. There are the same amount of hours and stress in each week for every one of us – those who fit exercise and healthy eating into their lifestyles don’t have more time or less stress, they just have healthier habits. The next time that you are unable to follow through on one of your weight management goals – Identify the challenge and prepare a plan for the next time. Don’t dwell on it or make excuses for why you can’t do it. Be prepared.

Close Your eyes and visualize – to keep you going even when you don’t feel like it or when the going gets rough. You know the drill, the schedule is hectic, the french fries or candy is calling your name and it’s just easier to slip back into your old unhealthy habits. Take a moment and visualize the slimmer, healthy more energetic person that you want to be. Remember the reason why you started your fitness or nutrition program in the first place!!

Create a clear mental picture and use it next time you feel like you are losing site of your fitness goals.

Don’t let weight loss dominate your life – Recognize and design a plan for your trigger times – those times that you eat from habit not hunger. Be it stress, anger boredom, or family events create a plan for those times that you have a challenge following your food plan. Also, planning in advance what you will eat for the day will allow you to fit snacks and treats into you day without having exceeding you daily caloric allotment. Having both a food plan and a “food trigger” plan will allow you to focus on other things throughout the day aside from food.
